On September 10th, the Chinatown Youth Initiatives, CYI is holding the 21st Chinatown Beautification Day. New York Chinese School has been partnering with CYI since 2022 to organize meaningful events together. This event brought together volunteers from the greater New York area and students from New York Chinese School, who have devoted themselves to beautifying the community and have also displayed a dedication and love to spreading news of this event.
At the opening ceremony, Principal Jennifer Wang, introduced the history and evolution of New York Chinese School; Through workshop discussions, group meetings, brainstorming, and practical street cleaning, we established a deep friendly cooperative relationship and brought warmth and care to the community.
Event organizer Vivian Lam said that as a new generation of Chinese Americans, we must not only understand the needs of both the Chinatown community and Asian Americans, but also take actions to make a contribution to the Chinatown community and make this community better.
Principal Jennifer Wang mentioned that as ethnic minorities, we must not only support and help each other, but also work harder to make this ethnic group stronger. And thank you to Vivian Lam, the event organizer of CYI. And a special thanks to William Chen, CEO of Chinatown BID, for his support and the organization’s sponsorship. Through this event, Principal Wang also hopes to encourage young people to participate in community service in their spare time, and through the power of the public, may we make New York's Chinatown cleaner and more beautiful day by day.
